Welcome to Wadi Rum Nature Tours

The Wadi Rum, located in southern Jordan, is a charming sandstone desert that stretches over about 720 square kilometres. Also known as the ‘Valley of the Moon’, this breathtaking landscape is characterised by massive rock formations, imposing canyons and wide spands of golden sand. Its majestic rock formations, smoothed by the wind, create a unique and surreal setting that has attracted the attention of travellers, explorers and filmmakers.

The sandstone rocks of the Wadi Rum, dating back to the Cambrian period, feature shades ranging from red to brown and beige, offering an amazing chromatic spectacle at sunrise and sunset. Sunlight paints the landscape in warm shades, creating a magical and enchanted atmosphere.

The desert is punctuated by tall monoliths and sharp rocky spires, some of which reach remarkable heights, giving the landscape an almost surreal look. Mount Um Ad Dami, the highest peak in Jordan, stands majestically in the region, offering spectacular views of the vastness of the desert.

Wadi Rum is a place rich in history and culture. It contains ancient rock engravings and petroglyphs dating back to different eras, testimony to the human presence in this area since prehistoric times. These finds provide a fascinating look into the life and activities of the ancient populations who once inhabited this remote region.

The Bedouin population, which for generations has lived in harmony with the desert, contributes to the unique atmosphere of Wadi Rum. Locals offer authentic experiences, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in Bedouin culture through hospitality, traditional cuisine and orally handed down stories.

This extraordinary venue was also chosen as a movie set for several world-famous films, including ‘Lawrence of Arabia’. The spectacular rock formations of the Wadi Rum have provided an epic backdrop to many film productions, adding further charm and global recognition to this desert region.

In conclusion, Wadi Rum enchants visitors with its breathtaking beauty, millennial history and vibrant culture. Exploring this unique desert offers an unforgettable experience, immersing yourself in the majesty of nature and the richness of Bedouin life.
